You’ve read this story before.
It’s the ultimate nightmare of history repeating itself. I didn’t want to write this post again. It’s redundant. It’s being posted on the sites of every online publication today. This won’t be your first time reading this post today and it won’t be your last. There’s a collective wave of what seems like plagiarism happening among writers today and it’s okay.
#BlackLivesMatter #SayHisName #Justice #AltonSterling
New name. Same script.
Trayvon Martin did not deserve to die. Sandra Bland did not deserve to die. Sean Bell did not deserve to die. Eric Garner did not deserve to die. Rekia Boyd did not deserve to die. Mike Brown did not deserve to die. Tamir Rice did not deserve to die. Freddie Gray did not deserve to die.
Alton Sterling did not deserve to die.
Nothing new or enlightening to write. No new revelations to share. The cops involved in the murder of Alton Sterling will be suspended with pay, go on trial, and not be convicted.
Meanwhile, you’ll find me online and on the South side of Chicago crying my eyes out while holding up a banner yelling “Black Lives Matter”, cause ain’t a damn thing changed.
Go on your way. There’s nothing new to see here.
