In the middle of all the intensity 2020 has thrown our way, let’s not forget a very important task families can do to support their schools: complete the Census 2020! Which, if you haven’t already done it, you can do right here: https://2020census.gov.
Billions of dollars in federal and state money for schools, students and families is distributed on the basis of Census count. If families go uncounted, they lose out on resources. And yet, many families are afraid to complete the Census because they don’t know about the protections in place to keep data safe and out of the wrong hands.
To answer these questions about the Census, Chavez Elementary’s third-graders, with the help of their teachers, put together this bilingual video.
You can learn even more about Census 2020 here: https://www.census.gov/newsroom/press-kits/2018/2020-census.html
But whatever you do, don’t forget, this year, everyone counts!
